Precision Grinding
Surface grinding is done on flat surfaces to produce a smooth surface finish. Material can be removed in tenths of thousandths.
What materials can be done with precision grinding?
Steel is the primary material we precision grind because the machine uses a magnet to hold the material in place during this process. Non-magnetic material can be ground, providing it is small enough to fit in a vise, or be clamped to angle plates which are then secured by the 12″x30″ magnet.
When would you use precision grinding?
Any time a part requires a very good surface quality or an exact thickness. Some examples of common parts we precision grind are: backing plates for stamping dies, kiss plates for injection molds, or any other steel that has been returned from heat treatment.
What is the benefit of precision grinding?
High surface finish, flat, precision parts at a fair price, with fast service that fits your project needs.
